My Little Girl!!

You are my sweet little angel and I cannot believe that today you are 4! Where has the time gone? I remember the day you were born like it was yesterday and I remember all the other birthdays in between just as well. The day you were born was the day my life changed forever. You have brought us so much happiness, joy and love and we are so thankful to have you in our lives!

At 4
You are a total diva, you love dresses and high heeled shoes, purses and make up!
You have been begging me for an Ipod and a Justin Beiber poster since you were 2.5 years old.
You are bright and inquisitive...you ask daily if you can do your homework.
You are shy for 10 minutes in unfamiliar territory but warm up quickly and then you are bubbly, friendly, happy and love to chat.
You are very independent (almost to a fault) and you are tenacious. You have determination that is impressive, for being so dainty you sure don't let that get in your way.
You love to be outside, swinging and singing. You love to dance and you have great rhythm.
You are nurturing and caring and you are a great big sister,
Your favorite foods are pesgetti and ice cream. You love anything sweet!
Next September you start school....I cant believe you start school soon!

Sibling Rivalry!

So it begins! My 2 babes use to be such buddies always so sweet and protective of each other, willing and able to play with each other for hours and all around good buddies.

Then Brycen turned 2. As the terrible 2's hit Brycen was far less patient to going along with his sister, he is far less tolerant to her wanting to play babies with him or treat him like a baby. Now it seems all day long I listen to the 2 of them squabble and bicker and from time to time I need to play referee from a brawl. Oh man I guess it was to good to be true that they would be budding buddies for years and years to come. This is all bringing me back to my own brother and our own sibling rivalry and the annoyance we must of put our parents through as they preached that we are siblings we need to treat each other nicely. I have really noticed a trent in parenthood, it really is karma over and over again!

Needs improvement

As a mother I have always taken my job very seriously. I believing in raising children to be responsible, kind, caring, and all around decent adults one day.
Their virtue and character is very important to me and I enjoy shaping and having a hand in creating these little people of mine!

I must admit though it isnt always simple or easy;
I lose my patience more then I would like too.
I worry far too much about things I can not control.
Sometimes I am too firm on the small issue and other times to lax on the b
My kids like treats and have them more often then I had ever imagined.
Motherhood is truly harder then I imagined...I thought a few sleepless nights was the extent of it! I WAS SADLY MISTAKEN

Where has the time gone, when did you go from being the wee little newborn baby to this big busy boy!

Now that you are 2

*You are talking up a storm these days and you are so very funny.
*You love your sister and want to be just like her. *It is so precious*
*You love to eat and especially veggies (brocoli and carrots are your faves)and cheese!
*Still dislikes milk!
*Loves to read books and play with balls and cars
*Fascinated with boy things like tools, big trucks and diggers
*Still a momma's boy
* At 2 I still haven't had a full nights sleep thanks to you ;)
*You are a wonderful little brother and a beautiful addition to our family!!

The nitty gritty on our sleep

or lack of it! We are back to trying to establish a healthy sleep routine as Jeff on the couch and 2 kids in bed with me is becoming draining on all of us, including the kids as Brycen wakes up screaming about 3 times a night.

Needless to say it is a battle. Jeff has been trying the ferber method with him as I truly am too soft hearted to do it. I just cant bare it so daddy has left to play tough guy. It is getting better, Brycen is putting himself to sleep but he still wakes up a bunch of times and always ends up in my bed with Brooklyn and I.

Sometimes I beat myself up as I listen to the advice that what I am doing is no good for any of us. Sometimes I can justify it in my mind that I am doing what works so we get some sleep and other times I look into the future and think of what it will be like when they are 16 and 18 years old. They will be teenagers no longer in my bed and probably barely at home as friends are usually the priority. I stop to think of Jeff and I thinking back to these days thinking Remember when....
In the meantime I guess all we can do is keep trying and remembering that really in a few years this really wont matter anyways!
