Our Summer in a Nutshell

You know those cold days you have at the end of the summer, the ones that leave a crispness in the air that has you reaching for that favorite wooly sweater; well today was one of those end of summer, bittersweet reminder of Fall days. Dont get me wrong, I adore Fall; for apple picking, and the beautiful folliage, the smell of burning wood and apple and pumpkin pies. I love it all except for the reminder that summer really is over.
Well between pulling out the fall decorations and checking on the roast in the oven I decided now would be a fantastic time to recap on our summer. It was a good one for us all and it was a special one too, as it was Brycen's first summer. Next year will be so different for him because instead of sleeping in the stroller for most of our adventures he would be able to participate.
Some things we enjoyed this summer were
  • Feeding the ducks at Andrew Hayden Park.
  • Silver lake family get together
  • Annual Pig Roast at Auntie Cory's
  • Picnic's in the park and the Teddy Bears Picnic with Grammy
  • Sleeping in a tent
  • Fishing with Nonno and Brooklyn catching her first fish
  • trips to the splash pad with buddies and cousin Elizabeth
  • Many long days spent at the park
  • Drive-in's
  • Swimming at Grammy's in a blo up pool
  • Exploring the Farm (Valleyview)
  • Dollarstore Friday's with the buddies
  • Nature walks in the bush searching for squirrels and birds
Ohh how we will miss the hazy crazy days of summer!
